Ann - this is geared mostly to you, but I need help from anyone who can give it! I keep hearing about all these really interesting blogs, and if I know the webpage I can find them, but how do I search a blog? I know I must be missing something really simple, but I"m not familar with this yet. Say I wanted to search DC politics blogs...or restaurant critics, or whatever --- could I do that? am I just being dumb?
Thank you! I'll email you with details about my trip to New York when I have them. I'd really like to see you!
love to everyone!

You can google for blogs... if you just search "blogs" you will get a very large return, but you can refine it by interest. For instance:
"blogs cooking" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=blogs+cooking
"blogs moderate politics" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c2coff=1&safe=off&q=blogs+moderate+politics&spell=1
And once you find a few blogs you like you'll find yourself following links to another and another...
This article (http://blogs.salon.com/0002007/2005/01/16.html) might be an interesting place to start... and this one has links to all sorts of topics on the lower right side of the page.
Also:
Iraq blogs: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/4193101.stm
For general links on any and everything (both sublime and profane) you can also check www.metafilter.com which considers itself a community weblog and has over 20,000 registered members (unknown what the subset of regular contributors and commentors is).
Happy hunting!
Aha! I thank you too, Ann.
