Family Gathering again
I found this website,vacations@inidaho.com , that may help us figure out the accomodations problem. Go to the site and select Mc Call area and there are a lot of rentals by the day and I am sure probably, if contacted, weekly rates might apply... Also, Kate and family are moving back to the states in July and maybe the dates may be a little more flexable. Let us all know what the thoughts are. Uncle John

Fisher Gettogether
Hi all. My brother let me know last Friday that only one cabin was still available at the Ponderosa State Park at the time we want to have our get together. It looks as though we will have to use the other accomodadtions such as Motels etc. I am looking at the present economy and I know it is going to be hard for some to be able to make it next July. If we can still do it, I am hoping to keep the expense at a minimum for those of us who find it difficult. I am hoping to be able to do this but i would like some input from all of you if you think this might be a bad time and want to try again in a better time... I will try to put it together anytime we all feel we can make it. Let me know what your thoughts are.. Thanks... John

Hummingbirds
Hi All - We've had a gang of hummingbirds at our backyard feeder for a week or so. I took a bunch of photos through our great room window and put a few of the better ones in "PaulR's Photos of Interest." Follow the link on the right side of this blog. I think you'll like them.

Road Trip to McCall, Idaho and Other Places
Mary Anne and I recently got back from a 3400 mile road trip where we went to McCall Idaho (via Page Arizona, Provo, Utah and Twin Falls Idaho and spent three days with sister Mary Margaret. From McCall we went to San Francisco (via Beautiful Winnimucca, Nevada) and spent a couple of days. Mary Anne gets restless if she doesn't get her San Francisco fix every once and a while. From there, we went to Modesto (stopping for lunch with Paula Shideler and her grandson, Tom) to spend three days with brother John, wife, Jan, their daughter, Wendi and her husband, Bryan. While in Modesto we drove out to Oakdale to have lunch with Mary Anne's childhood buddy, Elyse Clark, husband Gary and daughter Roxanne. From Modesto we drove to Thousand Oaks, California and spent three days with Pat and Stan Nelson. And, finally, we drove home to Green Valley. While in McCall we checked out the Ponderosa State Park where the Fisher reunion is planned for next July. I took a few pictures of the park and McCall environs and they are posted on "Fisher Trip Photos," linked to this Blog. Also, while roaming around San Francisco I remembered a circa 1912 photo of my maternal grandmother and mother on the beach south from the Cliff House. We went out to the beach and a grabbed a photo from about the same place. those two photos are above.

Reunion status
Things are looking good for next July. I have heard back from a few of you but am still waiting to confirm that everyone has been notified. I am told that some are out of the country and some are on vacation. I have sent e-mails to everyone I could think of. I would appreciate everyone mentioning it to others so if i missed anyone, the information will get out.. I am looking forward to next July and making this happen... See you all then... Uncle John

Fisher Reunion in July 2010
Hi All,
How about July 17th & 18th. That works best for the Jakarta Remonds.
Reed, thanks for pointing out that we needed to define the last weekend in July.

The Reunion looks good for July 2010
Hi all. I heard from Kate and she is on for any weekend in July but the last one. I think the 4th of July weekend would probably be a little rough for travel and such.. Lets try to pick on another time frame in July. I think the Mc Call sight is great. Lets start trying to set a date and then resevations can be made for places to stay... I will try to get the info on the RV park from Mary and maybe she can get some info on other lodging and contact info... This really sound like it would be great..

More on the reunion
I have not seen a lot of interest in the reunion idea from very many of our family... I am hoping it is because they have not been to FisherCatch. Anyway, my wise brother made a good suggestion for the reunion...KISS is the best way.. We could pick a location and then find the available housing and parking in the area and all could pick where they wanted to stay and then when we had an idea how many were going to be there, the closest , or whoever, could research for a place to get together for lunch or dinner for all of us... It would be great to just book a big place and have all of us there but the present economy might have a negetive impact on that idea. I hope we can do this... Uncle John

Family Reunion
Hi all. There has been talk about trying for a family reunion in 2010. I would love to see this happen. If we are going to make this work we will need some input from all concerned. Mostly availabiliy and location. I can tell you right now the west coast fishers have a limit of half way across the country from home for a location. Also, Availabilty for those like Kate who are out of the country and we will have to work with that also.
I would love some input on what all of you think and if you think it can be possible to get the majority of us in one place at one time.. Give me your input and I will try to put together a rough idea of what can be done.
I am thinking we might have to get two people working on this...one from the east and one from the west...
Looking forward to seeing and meeting all of you... some for the first time... Uncle John

People Do Look
Well, it looks like there's hope for FisherCatch yet. I'm encouraged. I guess that I'll start posting things that I think would interest the family again.
I'm on Facebook but I do very little with it and I doubt if I'll get on Twitter. Brook, you sent me a "be friend" email a week, or so, ago and I accidently deleted it. If you will send it again, I'll respond. But, as I said, I don't do much with the site.

Fisher Family Reunion.
Hi all. It has been a little while since we decided to wait on the reunion. I still hope we can do something in the near future with all of you. I realize that it is going to be really difficult to put together something that will work for all of us. Especially in the present times. I hope we can still get a reunion together in the future.. We sure have a lot of family to try to get together in one place. Please keep thinking of it and maybe we can put something together... Love to all. Uncle John
Take a Look!
Grandpa sent me a great photo of Mary and John in response to my photo project; specifically my "Lively" series. Take a look here and enjoy! Hugs!

Is Anybody Looking?
Well, it's Thursday morning. I'm sitting here, roaming around in cyberspace and waiting for my sweet heart to wake-up and come out of the bed room looking for her morning coffee. I look at Fisher Catch about once a week. Still no activity since Sophie's post on her return from Italy in December. It looks like the old family blog is pretty well defunct. Misty's (Oops! excuse me, Leigh's) Photo Project shows off her great talent as a photographer; Lisa's new blog is polished and impressive; Jan forwards great volumes of stuff to me (and everybody?). But, Fisher Catch lies dormant. Anyhow, I thought I'd do this post and wait and see how it takes for some one to catch it and post back (if ever). If never, Ann, maybe it's time to remove it.
